Bicycle Warehouse Philanthropy
Building Stronger Communities Through the Power of Bicycles and Clean Water
At Bicycle Warehouse, we believe access matters. Access to bikes, access to clean water, access to opportunity. As a San Diego–based company, we focus our giving on two areas, supporting families and communities here at home, and partnering with trusted organizations to create lasting impact globally. Whether it’s a child receiving their first bike or a village gaining access to safe drinking water, our goal is simple: support projects that create real, measurable change.
Our Approach to Giving
Our philanthropy is built around partnerships that deliver tangible outcomes, not one-time gestures. We focus on initiatives that improve daily life, promote health and mobility, and strengthen communities long term.
We concentrate our efforts in two key areas:
- Local impact in San Diego
- Global impact through A&K Philanthropy

San Diego–Based Community Support
Rooted Locally, Giving Back Where We Live
Bicycle Warehouse has been part of the San Diego cycling community for over 30 years. Giving back locally is a core part of who we are.
Supporting Military Families
We partner with the Armed Services YMCA of San Diego to provide bicycles to children in military families throughout the region. These donations help kids stay active, independent, and connected, especially during times of transition or deployment.
Community Engagement
Through our stores and local outreach, we support cycling initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and get more people riding. From family-focused programs to community partnerships, our goal is to make cycling accessible to riders of all ages across San Diego County.

Global Impact Through A&K Philanthropy
Clean Water Projects in Cambodia
Access to clean water changes everything. Through A&K Philanthropy’s Clean Water Project, Bicycle Warehouse has helped fund the construction of three water wells in Cambodia.
These wells provide:
- Reliable access to safe drinking water
- Reduced waterborne illness
- Time savings for families who no longer need to travel long distances for water
Clean water strengthens entire communities and supports better health, education, and economic stability.
Safe Water for Schools in Africa
2 School Water Projects Funded
We also support A&K Philanthropy’s Safe Water for School initiative in Africa. Bicycle Warehouse has helped fund two school water projects, providing students with access to clean, filtered drinking water during the school day.
These projects help:
- Reduce illness-related absences
- Improve student health and focus
- Create safer learning environments for children
Why This Work Matters
Clean water is foundational. Without it, education, health, and economic opportunity suffer. By supporting both community bike access and global water initiatives, Bicycle Warehouse is able to contribute to meaningful improvements in daily life, locally and abroad.
